About the Artist
Maggie Piu is a painter from Krakow (Poland), illustrator, architect by education. Maggie Piu has exhibited her work in Poland and abroad.
She has had over 60 solo exhibitions and participated in other art events in Cracow, Warsaw, London, Katowice, Lviv, Wroclaw, Szczecin, Gdansk and other cities. Her paintings may be found in private collections of art lovers all around the world.
Maggie Piu’s paintings shape a somewhat magical and unique climate. In her artistic tastes Maggie is drawn to the image of women, whilst her creativestyle – inimitable and recognizable – set at the source of Secession aesthetic of contradictions, her blend of female vision from the era of “art nouveau” and a modern surreal vision of female body – embedded in the melancholic background of a fairy-tale like fantasy.
Maggie Piu creates and lives in Krakow where she runs her own art gallery ( Maggie Piu Gallery ) through which she presents her creative work, large format painting, paintings, giclees, posters, decorative items, furniture and other original concepts of applying the motifs of her painting work in public space, including glass work, ceramics and textiles.
