Marietha Chopra Helgesen

There's a reason we don't see the world in black and white.

As an artist, Marietha focuses on colors and portraits, both of others and herself. Her main field has been filmmaking as a writer and director. As a film student, her self-portrait experimental film got exhibited at the Arts Palace of Naples in 2016. In 2022, she began an art project where she selected one artist she was inspired by and painted some self-portraits based on the artist’s style. Munch was the first artist to call the series “I AM MUNCH,” for which she got two exhibitions of her self-portrait painting at the Kunsthall Oslo and the old Munch Museum. Making it simple is a method Marietha likes to achieve with her artwork, especially as an artist living with the right sided brain damage who shouldn’t be able to use her creative abilities.
