About the Artist
An artist has this constant burning urge to create. Artmaking is the artist’s tool to communicate, explore, experiment and to find his/her place and voice in this world. Every artist has a unique set of experiences, interpretations and ways of expression, making every artist unique.
My creative process involves mixed-media techniques using acrylic paint, inks, threads, textures, found objects and collage elements (images from my own past/present work). The process involves many on-and-off canvas work, with multiple layering stages. Theme elements include the concept of communication, sensory experiences and humanity’s presence and impact on the natural environment. Silhouetted human head side profiles are often used, combined with inverted, mirrored, juxtaposed and shadowed head profiles. Thread is used to define/separate detailed areas and flat colour areas, but also has symbolical meaning.
We live in highly turbulent times, with humanity and life on earth facing major future challenges. I aim to use my medium to create awareness, but also to inspire and motivate people that there is always hope.
Art, for me, is journey and a mental guide and footprint through my life. Art lovers support and join us on that special journey!
