About the Artist

I was born 1961 in Berlin. The first years of my childhood I lived in Great Britain. After graduating High School in Germany I spent some time in Vienna, where I was engaged in the restauration of and painting of Russian icons.

My academic path me to the university in Kiel, where I studied anthroplogy, history of art and archaeology. After graduatingwith a magister I designed brochures and logos on a self employed basis. However, my focus shifted more and more towards painting. My work is profoundly experimental and abstract. I play with different materials such as acrylic, pigments, oil an others so the canvas is mixed media. The colours I use, I choose intuitively. Therefore my art is not considered action, it is rather a process. In theory, my images can be continued endlessly. I see a canvas not as a limit but as a partial cut.

The organic shapes are modeled from nature and give space for individual interpretation. This language of shapes gives my artworks their tension and their specific handwriting.

My artwork has been awarded and exhibited at single as well as group exhibitions in Germany and abroad.
