Mold oshibana on fiberboard.
The second work in the sustainable “Flover” series is “Heart”. It is created o reused cardboard from flower petals.
The “HEART” is intentionally made larger than “Head” to emphasize its importance in the context of the series. Petals were infected with mold fungus to make them alive. Mold is gradually damaging the petals, so the picture is slowly changing over time. “Heart” will eventually disappear and that makes it special. We always value things that are not meant to last forevermore. With this work, I motivate people to think about love. Is it limited? Is it changing over time?
I want this artwork to be a kind of reminder that nothing has eternal life, even their feelings, even the lives of their belongings, and their own lives. I want people to pay attention to the fact the most fragile parts of their lives are the most important at the same time.
The work is framed and ready to be hung on the wall.
