What is Nordhavn?

Nordhavn (or Nordhavnen) is a former industrial and port area in Copenhagen, by the Øresund, north of the city center.

The area is undergoing major urban development: from container terminal, industry and free port to a new urban district with housing, offices, recreational areas and sustainable urban planning.

The development is managed by the municipally owned development company By & Havn.

In terms of infrastructure, Nordhavn is well connected: there are metro and S-train connections, bike routes etc.

Is Nordhavn exclusive?

Nordhavn is modern, waterfront and architecturally ambitious – in many ways an exclusive neighborhood. At the same time, the district has been planned with an eye for quality and sustainability (e.g. the “5-minute city”) and offers a mix of housing and urban life. The result is an open and attractive area where locals, businesses and visitors meet for culture, commerce and great experiences.
